In 1991 Estonia regained its independence from the tyranny of 51 years of Soviet occupation. Since then there has been a relentless pursuit of progress, with Estonia ranking as one of the top countries in the world for reading, math and science, and establishing itself as the most digitally advanced society.
However, Estonia is also one of the world's most secular societies. In the minds of many Estonians, Christianity is something that was forced upon them in the Northern crusades of the 12th and 13th centuries and has no place in a modern society.
Within missionary circles, Estonia is often referred to as being “hard soil” and yielding a poor return on investment. But we know that our God is able to soften even the hardest ground. People in Estonia need to encounter the living God who is active and loves them. The harvest is plentiful!
Vineyard Tallinn was planted in Estonia’s capital in 2003 by Miguel and Mai Zayas (from the US and Estonia) and has grown into a vibrant community of Jesus followers. It is a young church comprising of babies and toddlers all the way up to people in their 40s. Anthony Jessop from the U.K. took over as pastor in 2017.
Our building is located in the middle of one of the most densely populated districts of Tallinn. Not only do we have the opportunity to share the good news of the kingdom with Estonians, but God has sent people from all over the world to hear Jesus’ invitation to "follow me” and to invite others to do the same. Our members include people from 17 different nations!
Please consider partnering with us financially and in prayer as we proclaim and demonstrate the king and his kingdom here in Estonia. Also, feel free to reach out to us if you’d like more information: [email protected]
